What technology is HuyIDE based on?

HuyIDE is a fork of Eclipse Theia (EPL-2.0/GPL-2.0 with Classpath Exception) and uses Monaco / VS Code editor components under MIT. See Licenses for details.

Does my data leave my machine?

HuyIDE is designed privacy-first. You can run locally, choose your AI provider, and control your data. Community keeps memory and config local and does not upload source code to HuyIDE servers.

Which operating systems are supported?

HuyIDE supports macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows, and Linux.

Which AI models can I use?

HuyIDE uses a BYOK model: Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Google Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, Command Code, Hugging Face, Vercel AI, or local models through Ollama/llamafile.

Is HuyIDE endorsed by the Eclipse Foundation?

No. HuyIDE is built on Eclipse Theia (EPL-2.0). It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Eclipse Foundation.

HuyIDE is exploring strategic investment and AI infrastructure partnerships to expand access to a supported developer trial and grow the product sustainably.

How it works today

HuyIDE is a desktop workspace, not an AI model provider. Developers connect their own provider accounts or API keys, or use local models. Model usage is billed by the provider and is separate from a HuyIDE subscription.

What support would unlock

Funding or provider credits would help us offer a limited, clearly capped model-usage allowance to trial participants, learn from real developer workflows, and improve onboarding and reliability. Any sponsored usage would depend on provider approval and program terms.

We welcome conversations about early-stage investment, startup programs, and model or cloud credits that fit HuyIDE’s developer tools roadmap.
