HuyIDE 1.71: Agent Mode, Quick Chat, and diagrams in Figma

A focused workspace for agent-driven tasks

Switch between Editor and Agent modes from the HuyIDE title bar. Agent Mode gives longer, multi-step work its own workspace, with a session rail for returning to recent conversations and a focused input for choosing or pinning an agent.

When an agent proposes file changes, open the change set in the Agent Mode preview to inspect the diff alongside the conversation. Your selected mode is remembered between launches. Agent Mode can read and modify project files, so HuyIDE asks you to enable it before using the mode.

Quick Chat keeps a prompt close at hand

Double-tap the left Ctrl key to show or hide the floating Quick Chat window. It stays lightweight, so you can capture a thought while another application is in front. Submit the prompt and HuyIDE routes it into the current chat session in the main window.

You can also capture a window and send its image to Quick Chat: hold the left and right Cmd keys together on macOS, or the left and right Ctrl keys together on Windows and supported Linux X11 sessions. On macOS, HuyIDE needs Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions. Linux Wayland uses the system screenshot picker instead of the global shortcut. Review the image and prompt before sending them to your model.

Turn Mermaid diagrams into canvas work

Pair HuyIDE with the local HuyDesign plugin in Figma or FigJam, then ask an agent to draw or update a diagram from Mermaid source. In Figma Design, HuyDesign can render flowcharts, sequence and state diagrams, activity diagrams and swimlanes, ERDs, and sitemaps as canvas frames. FigJam supports editable native flowcharts.

HuyDesign can pull a diagram frame back into HuyIDE for inspection. When preparing supported changes to existing Figma nodes, it presents a field-level review before you confirm a writeback. The bridge is local and requires the paired plugin to be connected.

Recover more gracefully from context limits

If a provider rejects a HuyCompose request because the conversation exceeds the model’s context window, HuyCompose can retry once with a shorter request. It keeps the leading system instructions and the current user turn, then fits as much recent history as it can into an estimated budget. Other request errors are passed through instead of triggering this retry.
